Andrei Arshavin proposed to Putin to create a Russian analogue of the computer game FIFA
Former Russian national team footballer Andrei Arshavin made a proposal to the country’s President Vladimir Putin at the opening of the Future Games in Kazan. Journalist Pavel Zarubin published their dialogue in his Telegram channel.
According to the ex-player, it is necessary to create a Russian analogue of the FIFA computer game. “I think that this would maintain interest in football, because guys now spend a lot of time on computers and live in the virtual world,” said Arshavin. “What needs to be done? Talk to Alexei Borisovich Miller,” Putin replied.
FIFA is a series of computer games in the football simulator genre. It is being developed by EA Canada studio, part of the American corporation Electronic Arts.
Arshavin, as a member of Zenit, became the champion of Russia three times, and also won the UEFA Cup and Super Cup in 2008. Arshavin also played for London’s Arsenal, Krasnodar’s Kuban and Kazakhstan’s Kairat.
