Bolshunov appreciated the possibility of performing at the Olympics in a neutral status

Alexander Bolshunov said that it is impossible to go to the Olympics in a neutral status

Three-time Olympic champion in cross-country skiing Alexander Bolshunov appreciated the possibility of competing at the Games in a neutral status. His words are quoted by Sport24.

In his opinion, this cannot be done under current conditions. “If you go, then you need to go normally, because – why, for example, should our athletes be disadvantaged in all directions?” – said Bolshunov.

Earlier, the President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR), Elena Vyalbe, said that she would not root for the Russians at the Olympic Games. “I won’t watch it. If the Russians perform there, for God’s sake, but I won’t root for them and won’t follow them,” said the functionary.

Last December, the International Olympic Committee allowed Russians and Belarusians to participate in the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games. In addition, representatives of team sports will miss the tournament.
