Tarasova said that Zagitova will be a successful manager of a figure skating school
Honored figure skating coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the prospects of Alina Zagitova in the role of manager of a figure skating school. Her words on Wednesday, February 21, were quoted by RIA Novosti.
“It seems to me that Alina will succeed. She is such a successful girl that everything works out for her. What kind of profession is this that she might not succeed in?” – Tarasova counted.
On February 20, Tatarstan Sports Minister Vladimir Leonov announced that 21-year-old Zagitova would become the general manager of her own sports school in Kazan. The former figure skater will be involved in the selection of coaches, will “supervise the work and set tasks.”
In 2019, the figure skater paused her career, focusing on her work as a TV presenter. In particular, she co-hosted the show “Ice Age” with Olympic champion Alexei Yagudin. Subsequently, Zagitova was repeatedly criticized for tongue-tiedness; in addition, the former athlete repeatedly found herself in scandalous stories. So, in August last year, in the center of Moscow, she drove through a red light while filming a video for her social networks.
Zagitova is the only single figure skater in Russian history who has won all the titles in world figure skating. She became the 2018 Olympic champion, world and European champion, and also the winner of the Grand Prix final.
