Elena Vyalbe refused to consider Russian skiers and biathletes as one family
President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) Elena Vyalbe spoke about the participation of biathletes in the upcoming Legkov Race. Her words are quoted by “Championship”.
She refused to consider representatives of sports as one family. “You have to adapt to them, keep the appropriate distance. One family? Damn, we are not family with biathletes! Colleagues, but not family,” said Vyalbe.
“Legkov Race” will take place on February 23-24, 2024 in the city of Peresvet, Moscow region. It will include skiing and biathlon races, as well as master classes.
At the end of February – beginning of March 2022, many international sports organizations suspended Russian athletes from competitions under their auspices. In some events, athletes from the Russian Federation perform in a neutral status. This did not affect skiing and biathlon.
