Deputy Rodnina said she was tired of discussing the return of beer to stadiums
Three-time Olympic champion and now State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina said that she was tired of discussing the possible return of beer to stadiums. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
In her opinion, this issue does not apply to sports. “If football clubs say that this is a profit for them, then for all the thirty years that professional sports have existed in Russia, it would be nice for them to learn how to make money during this time,” Rodnina said.
On February 13, the honorary president of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov spoke about the possibility of selling alcohol at stadiums. The functionary advocated the sale of beer at matches. “Moreover, I would have allowed vodka!” – Koloskov said.
A ban on the sale of beer at sports venues has been in effect in Russia since 2005. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, beer returned to Russian stadiums as an exception.
