Russian forward of the New York Rangers Artemy Panarin was recognized as the first star of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported on the league website.
The Rangers beat the New York Islanders 6-5 in a regular-season game played outdoors at MetLife Stadium. Panarin scored the decisive goal in overtime. The forward also made two assists.
The second star of the day was Swedish Los Angeles Kings forward Adrian Kempe, who scored a double in the match with the Pittsburgh Penguins (2:1). The third star was recognized as Canadian forward of the Colorado Avalanche, Nathan MacKinnon, who had a goal and an assist in the match against the Arizona Coyotes (4:3).
This season, Panarin took part in 55 matches for the Rangers. He has 74 points – 32 goals and 42 assists.
