Former coach of the Russian national team Stanislav Cherchesov commented on rumors about the possible signing of a contract with the Hungarian “Ferencváros”. This is reported by the Polish edition of Interia.
58-year-old Cherchesov spoke about his future. “I am in talks with several clubs that have expressed an interest in me. Yes, there are also Hungarians among them. Teams from Turkey and other countries also contacted me, ”he said. The specialist also stressed that he will make a decision next week.
On Saturday, December 18, it became known that Cherchesov had agreed on a contract with Ferencváros. Then it was noted that next week he will be presented to the team as head coach.
The last place of work of Cherchesov was the Russian national team. He has led the national team since 2016 and left after an unsuccessful performance at Euro 2020. The team failed to leave the group.
At the club level, Cherchesov is known for his work in the clubs of the Russian Premier League (RPL) – Amkara, Spartak, Terek and Dynamo. Also, a Russian specialist headed the Polish Legia.
