Juan Luis Anangonó, once again a hero: goal and qualification for the semifinals of Guatemalan soccer

Days after signing a hat trick, the Ecuadorian marks the amount with which Communications will be able to search for the ticket for the league title series.

The Ecuadorian Juan Luis Anangonó was once again a hero the same week by scoring, on Saturday night, the only goal with which Comunicaciones made it to the semifinals of the Guatemalan League, four days after scoring a hat trick that gave the creams the Concacaf League title.

The 35th minute was played at the Doroteo Guamuch Flores stadium, when the 32-year-old forward caught the ball in the small area and connected with his left foot to barely inflate the nets, against Iztapa (1-0). The match was valid for the second leg of the quarterfinals, a series that ended goalless in the first leg.

Last Tuesday, Anangonó signed a hat-trick against the Honduran Motagua in the final of the Concacaf League. The creams fell 2-0 at home before half an hour of play, but the ibarreño punished at minutes 42, 45 + 1 and 66. Júnior Lacayo (minute 54) put the remaining target of the victory by 4-2 and the continental title remained in Guatemala.

Waiting to meet the next rival this Sunday, Comunicaciones will return to the scene in the middle of next week in the first leg of the semifinals of the Guatemalan league, of which the capital institution is the second most awarded (30 titles), just behind Municipal (31).

Anangonó was hired by his current club in July for the 2021 Apertura Tournament. He previously played for Bolivian Blooming.

The Ecuadorian striker was champion of Ecuador with the Quito League in 2018; that domestic campaign had 35 performances and scored 16 goals, being the main gunner of the university students and the sixth best in the contest. He was in the Albo club from 2014 to 2019.

According to records from the Ecuadorian Football Federation, Anangonó made the minor divisions at Barcelona Sporting Club, a team with which he made his first debut on September 16, 2007, at the Clásico del Astillero.

In addition to those mentioned, he went through other casts such as El Nacional, Argentinos Juniors, Chicago Fire (USA), University of Guadalajara (Mexico) and Beijing BSU (China).
