RPL ranked second in Europe in terms of non-profit income in 2022
The Russian Premier League (RPL) ranked second in Europe in terms of non-commercial revenue in 2022. This was reported on the website of the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA).
They amounted to $260 million and included money received from football organizations, owner donations, state and municipal subsidies and non-football activities. The leader in this indicator is the French Ligue 1 (270 million).
Non-commercial income accounts for 25 percent of all income in RPL. According to this indicator, the league is in third place in Europe. It is ahead of Belgium (27) and Switzerland (28). The majority of RPL’s non-commercial income comes from government subsidies.
The Russian Championship is on a winter break. The tournament will resume on March 1.
