Rubbed vaccine in “no pandemic country”. In Poland, there are so many deaths within a few days

he has bad luck. Initially, it was supposed to take place in the summer of 2021. The organizers decided, however, that due to weather conditions, it was better to move the tournament to January 2022. In 2021, however, it was blocked by the third wave of the pandemic. The African Football Confederation (CAF) was forced to postpone the competition one year.

Europe is afraid of the African omicron and is cut off from the continent

The turn of January and February 2022 also turns out to be unlucky. At the end of November, the world already knew about a new coronavirus mutation that had appeared in South Africa. A new variant of the coronavirus is already in Europe, which has been facing the fourth wave of the pandemic for some time.

In many countries, stadiums are closed or the attendance is reduced. It is getting harder and harder to play games normally. Due to COVID, Tottenham did not meet in the Europa League. The English had a total of 13 infected people in the club. Leicester ultimately played against Napoli without five sick players. Manchester United and Brentford did not meet in the Premier League. . More than 40 players may be called up to the national teams from their leagues.

According to estimates, they would miss two to eight matches because of the PNA. It will depend not only on how long their team will play at the event, but also on what regulations they will be covered by – because they can expect quarantine in Africa and England.

Many African players also play in French and Ligue 2 on a daily basis. And it was the European Club Association, led by PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, who expressed concern about the tournament’s safety – and wrote an official letter to FIFA on this matter. It is likely that the information on the French radio station RMC comes from Al-Khelaifi.

For now, Europe is mainly defending itself against travelers from. Great Britain was the first to not accept connections from this country (but also from Namibia, Zimbabwe, Lesotho, Botswana and Eswatini). She was quickly followed by, among others France, Austria and the Netherlands.

In Africa, the fight against the coronavirus is going differently than in Europe. The problem here is the availability of vaccines. In South Africa, only slightly over 25% are vaccinated against the coronavirus. citizens, which is an excellent result compared to Africa. It is not only about the small number of vaccines available, but also about their transport and storage at the right temperatures. Only recently, Johnson & Johnson announced an agreement with one of the South African companies that will produce vaccines in South Africa and market them to the African market. Only then you will have to convince people to accept it, and there is a big problem with that. For now, South Africa is struggling with the highest daily number of new coronavirus infections since the start of the pandemic and has around 24,000. new cases daily.

Cameroon untouched by the pandemic. In Poland, there are so many deaths within a few days

Will the problems of southern Africa also spread to the central part and reach Cameroon? The host of the African Cup of Nations is somewhat of a surprise to those monitoring the coronavirus infection. In Cameroon, one of the lowest incidence rates was recorded. Since the start of the pandemic, it’s only 108,000. cases and 1.8 thous. deaths. Therefore, as many people officially died there for one and a half years of COVID, as many people die in Poland at the end of December within a few days. Cameroon is a country of 26.5 million people. Why is the incidence rate there 50 times lower than in European countries, despite the fact that the number of vaccinated – and then with only one dose – does not exceed 2.5 percent of the population?

The simplest answer is that there is no data available on the number of tests performed. Cameroon’s Minister of Health, Dr. Manaouda Malachie, assures journalists that a lot of testing is being done to monitor the pandemic. He talks about the quickly introduced lockdown, adds that the third pillar of the fight against the coronavirus is local medicine. – Everyone in the world has turned to pharmaceuticals, we have traditional methods of treating diseases – he emphasizes. Natural medicine treatment is part of the national tradition. In fact, during the coronavirus pandemic, even the president of the country, Paul Biya, encouraged the use of natural resources.

Here, however, we enter into considerations about faith, not science – we rely on declarations, not hard data. For a year now, in Cameroon’s bazaars, various specifics have been available that allegedly help in the fight against the coronavirus. Some are also sold in supermarkets. The Ministry of Health even approved six of them developed by doctors and herbalists. They are not marketed as a coronavirus drug, but are marketed as adjuvants and supplements to other forms of treatment.

In the coronavirus, thyme, cabbage and rubbed vaccine

One of them is the Corocur created by the cardiologist Euloge Yiagnigni Mfopou. The preparation has antioxidant and antiviral properties. According to the doctor, it helps a lot, especially in milder forms of the disease. Its composition? Probably mainly Thymus vulgaris – thyme. – This is something close to thyme, but in the Cameroonian variety – the doctor says. The price of the bottle is PLN 70.

Another preparation with the inscription “Elixir COVID” on the box was created by Archbishop Douali Samuel Kleda. – This is not a supplement, but a real medicine – said Arte in a report on television. – We have tested it many times. After five days of use, the tests turned negative in infected people, he assured.

The clergyman, who is also an herbalist, does not reveal the composition of the preparation. It only informs that it contained 65 plants. He frowns at the vaccinations. He says that this is a venture to earn money for big concerns. He sells the preparation bottles for PLN 140.

The “cure” for the coronavirus was also created by Papa Bogda Lazar, a naturopath awarded by the national authorities with the rank of commander. Lazar has his own plant farms, what looks like a laboratory and a book where he writes down notes. He uses 24 different plants to fight the coronavirus: the potion contains, among others, tchum-tchum – the bark reduces breathlessness in the lungs, but there is also ginseng, cabbage and onions. Lazar “vaccinates” the patients by rubbing a powder into their hands (one dose is enough). He also gives it to some to drink. It seems that how long and wide a country in every corner, herbalists, medics or priests know how to deal with the coronavirus.

Doctors stationed in Cameroonian hospitals point out that the placebo effect is sometimes very important to people. As to the minor harm caused in their country by the pandemic, they point out another thing. Cameroonians likely have strong immunity to COVID viruses, as those in central Africa are not new.

Coming back to the position of European clubs and their fears of sending players to the tournament – herbalists, medics and priests will not convince anyone of them.

Options for postponing and canceling the event. The stadium has been under construction for 12 years

If the pandemic or the fear of it does not stop the most important football tournament in Africa, maybe … the tournament itself and its preparation will do it? The problem for today is, for example, the opening and final arena of the event – President Paul Biy’s stadium with a population of 60,000. The facility has been under construction for 12 years and the works on it are still ongoing. The original completion date for the facility was scheduled for July, then it was postponed to November and early December, but it is not expected that they will meet the deadline in Cameroon.

FIFA controllers have signaled that there may not be enough time to complete it, but they have opened an office in Cameroon and are monitoring progress. As reported by Jeune Afrique, CAF is also considering the stadiums in Douala as an emergency solution for the tournament.

FIFA is considering postponing the tournament or organization outside of Africa. Qatar may be at stake.
