The 2024 Vuelta a Andalucía will finally begin on Friday, February 16, with a time trial, and will have three stages, as reported this Wednesday. The race was scheduled to start this Wednesday, the 14th, but the organization of the race has suspended the stage, due to a lack of Civil Guard troops; Thursday’s day will not be held either, and the Vuelta a Andalucía will end, as announced, on Sunday.

In this context, the 70th edition of the test will begin, on Friday, with a five-kilometer time trial in the Jaén town of Alcaudete.

The lack of Civil Guard troops has occurred because a significant number of agents had to go to their different detachments due to the farmers’ demonstrations.

On Saturday, the 17th, the race will leave Lucena, to reach the finish line of Alto de Nuestra Señora de Araceli; and, while waiting to know the development of the protests, the route of the last stage, scheduled for Sunday, February 18, will be decided later.
