“Soviet Sport”: from 2019 to 2022, Kamila Valieva was tested for doping 15 times
Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva was tested for doping 15 times between 2019 and 2022. This number was named by “Soviet Sport”.
According to the publication’s source, regular inspections began in August 2019. The sample dated December 25, 2021 was positive.
Earlier, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reported that Valieva took dozens of different approved drugs and nutritional supplements between 2020 and 2021. We are talking about 60 substances.
On January 29, CAS disqualified Valieva for four years. The period of suspension is counted from the moment the positive sample is taken. The fact that traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in it became known after the end of the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, where the Russian team won gold. She was subsequently stripped of this award.
