Honorary President of the RFU Vyacheslav Koloskov spoke in favor of selling vodka at stadiums
Honorary President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Vyacheslav Koloskov spoke about the possibility of selling alcohol at stadiums. His words are quoted by Sport24.
The functionary advocated the sale of beer at matches. “Moreover, I would have allowed vodka too! But this needs to be done in cultural conditions, and not in some eateries. There should be a good bar at the stadium where you can come before the match, discuss football, have a glass or two and wash it down with beer,” Koloskov said.
The honorary president of the RFU added that the sale of alcohol will help clubs and the RPL make money. “But beer and vodka won’t corrupt anyone. Now the audience at matches is different, drunkards don’t go to stadiums,” Koloskov believes.
Last December, former head coach of Spartak and the Russian national team Oleg Romantsev spoke out for the sale of alcohol at stadiums. “Once you come up with the idea that you can play at minus ten, then you can also come up with the idea that you can drink a glass of vodka in the stands,” said the specialist.
A ban on the sale of beer at sports venues has been in effect in Russia since 2005. During the 2018 FIFA World Cup, beer returned to Russian stadiums as an exception.
