The Olympic champion spoke about Tutberidze’s immorality in the Valieva case

Vaitsekhovskaya spoke about Tutberidze’s immorality in the case of figure skater Valieva

Olympic diving champion and now journalist Elena Vaitsekhovskaya, in an interview with the Okko YouTube channel, spoke about the immorality of Russian coach Eteri Tutberidze in the doping case of figure skater Kamila Valieva.

According to Vaitsekhovskaya, Tutberidze should not have said that she was not involved in Valieva’s preparation. “If a trainer works with children, then he must know what the person training with him is taking and for what reason,” she considered.

On January 31, Tutberidze reproached the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) for not establishing exactly how the prohibited substance entered Valieva’s body. In addition, Tutberidze expressed doubts that someone defended Valieva at the CAS hearings, and called the court’s verdict the worst.

On January 29, CAS suspended Valieva for four years for using the banned drug trimetazidine. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021. The athlete, along with her partners on the Russian national team, will be deprived of gold for winning the team tournament at the 2022 Olympics.
