With the 33-year-old forward, the Brooklyn team reaches a dozen players absent due to COVID-19 and other injuries.
The Brooklyn Nets confirmed this Saturday that the team’s star, Kevin Durant, would not play the game at home against the Orlando Magic due to problems with his right ankle. With the 33-year-old forward, there are already ten players from the New York team who are out due to injury and the COVID-19 protocols.
LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre ‘Bembry, Bruce Brown, Jevon Carter, James Harden and Paul Millsap are off due to COVID protocols. Joe Harris has had surgery on his left ankle and Patty Mills is in the process of recovery.
The only good news for the Nets is that the team has decided to bring Kyrie Irving back for games he plays outside of New York.
The Brooklyn team had removed Irving from team discipline over the guard’s decision to refuse to receive the COVID-19 vaccine..
The Nets said in a statement on Friday that they have decided to reinstate Irving “with the full support” of the players and “after careful consideration” of the current circumstances, “including players who are going to miss games due to injury and the protocols of security”.

Irving will only be available in games played outside of Brooklyn because the player does not meet the New York requirements, that requires vaccination of professional athletes to be able to play matches in the city. (D)
