Vyacheslav Fetisov complained about the high cost of hockey lessons
Two-time Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Vyacheslav Fetisov complained that the cost of playing hockey in Russia is too high. His words are quoted by TASS.
“Today, hockey has become such an expensive sport that the cost of classes discriminates against low-income families,” Fetisov noted.
The deputy added that his family also had to bear certain expenses. “I remember when I was 13-14 years old, my parents saved for a year for me to buy a helmet and skates, and I felt that I couldn’t let them down,” Fetisov said.
Last December, Olympic medalist in the Russian national team Pavel Bure called hockey the most popular sport in Russia. “A lot of children play hockey in Russia, and if so, then we will have stars in the future. In our country, there have been world-class stars in all generations. The situation is the same today,” Bure said.
