Jeff Monson linked Kamila Valieva’s disqualification to US influence
Mixed style fighter (MMA) Jeff Monson spoke about the four-year disqualification of figure skater Kamila Valieva. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
He linked this decision by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to the financial influence of the United States. “This happened because America controls everything through its money and influence. This is a terrible decision! Totally unfair,” Monson said.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021. Then traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in her sample. Because of this, Russia was deprived of team gold in the figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games, and the United States was recognized as the winner.
Monson is 53 years old. In May 2022, he said that he had renounced his American citizenship. In MMA, the fighter won 60 victories with 26 defeats.
