Tyson Fury’s fight with Alexander Usik has been postponed
The fight between Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usik and Briton Tyson Fury will be postponed. This was reported on the Queensberry promotion company Instagram account (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
The reason was Fury’s injury. The Briton suffered a cut to his eyebrow during sparring and will now need stitches. A new date for the fight has not yet been announced.
The boxers’ meeting was scheduled for February 17. The fight was supposed to take place in Riyadh. The fight broke down for the third time.
Usyka won 21 victories in 21 fights. He holds the World Boxing Organization (WBO), International Boxing Federation (IBF), International Boxing Organization (IBO) and WBA Super heavyweight championship belts. Fury has 33 wins, one draw and no losses. He holds the World Boxing Council (WBC) heavyweight championship belt.
