Eight-time Paralympic champion Savchenko decided to sell two medals

Eight-time Paralympic champion Oksana Savchenko decided to sell two gold medals from the 2008 Games in Beijing and the 2012 Paralympics in London. Mash Batash reports this.

The Russian athlete plans to earn 60 million rubles for them. The price, as the former swimmer explained, is the world average. Savchenko noted that she studied how similar awards were sold at auctions.

“For now, collectors from other countries are interested. I would like to sell it to the Russians, but this is the situation at the moment,” Savchenko said. She noted that the proceeds will be used to support SVO fighters and their families, as well as finance projects to combat cybercrime and charitable foundations.

Savchenko retired from acting in 2015. After leaving sports, she was involved in politics and was also the coordinator of the Roskibersecurity project.
