The head of RUSADA Loginova called for punishing Valieva’s accomplice in doping
Director General of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) Veronika Loginova spoke about the four-year disqualification of figure skater Kamila Valieva. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
The functionary stated that there was a person who was an accomplice or initiator of doping by the athlete, and that he deserves criminal punishment. “RUSADA does not have the functionality of law enforcement agencies and cannot conduct operational investigative activities. We have talked about this several times,” Loginova emphasized.
Earlier, Tatyana Moskalkova, Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, spoke about Valieva’s disqualification. She explained the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) as Russophobia.
On January 29, CAS suspended Valieva for four years for using the banned drug trimetazidine. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021.
