Tatyana Moskalkova explained the disqualification of Kamila Valieva by Russophobia
The Commissioner for Human Rights under the President of the Russian Federation, Tatyana Moskalkova, commented on the four-year disqualification of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva for doping. She published a corresponding post on her Telegram channel.
The Ombudsman noted that the news caused her sincere indignation, and the accusations against Valieva are groundless. “This is not the first of its kind, but still a blatant case of naked Russophobia, which we regularly deal with in the field of human rights protection,” Moskalkova explained.
On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for using the banned drug trimetazidine. The period of suspension starts on December 25, 2021.
According to the court, Valieva could not prove that she did not take doping intentionally. Thus, the athlete, along with her partners on the Russian national team, will be deprived of gold for winning the team tournament at the 2022 Olympics.
