Lewandowski stirred. No other footballer has received such a rating

The website Abendzeitung-muenchen.de was much more severe for a Pole. He rated the performance of our national team captain as “three”. This score prevails here in Bayern, with only the remaining goalscorers rated higher: Upamecano, Sane and Mueller. “He missed the first good opportunity after passing Alphonso Davies. In the 27th minute he made another mistake. In the second half he missed two more opportunities to break through the endgame. Thus, he broke another Mueller’s record” – we read in the explanatory memorandum.

Sport.de was not particularly kind to Lewandowski. He rated the Pole’s game at 2.5. Upamecano (1), Lucas Hernandez (2), Davies (2), Mueller (1.5) and Sane (1) received higher scores. “Lewandowski made us wait a long time for the next goal this year. A record goal. Previously, he did not show off in at least three situations, not even hitting an empty goal in the 67th minute” – we read in the justification.

Ambiguous assessments of Lewandowski

The “Eight” on a ten-point scale was issued to Lewandowski by the portal 90min.de. Here, higher scores were given to Manuel Neuer (9), Upamecano (10), Serge Gnabry (9) and Mueller (9). “Although he had a few opportunities to score, he only used one. Symbolic, record-breaking. He also worked for his teammates, just like Musiale in the 55th minute” – we read.

Coming back to the German rating scale, we also have a note issued by the Tz.de portal. This one, like Abendzeitung-muenchen.de, gave the Pole a “three”. It was the score that prevailed in the team, the higher ones were given to Neuer (2), Upamecano (2), Mueller (2) and Sane (2). “He may have been frustrated by unused situations. In the end, he luckily broke, breaking the Mueller record” – journalists wrote in the justification.

The Focus.de portal also assessed Lewandowski’s performance in the same way. Here, too, our competitor received a “three”. Neuer (2), Upamecano (1), Sane (1) and Mueller (2) were ranked higher, and Davies, Benjamin Pavard and Gnabry were described below as “fours”. “Lewandowski tried very hard to score another goal, but it did not work out for a long time. He finally broke down in the last moments of the match” – we read in the justification.

Bayern will spend a short break in the Bundesliga in first place in the table. Julian Nagelsmann’s team has 43 points and is nine ahead of Borussia Dortmund, who will play against Hertha on Saturday. The next game in the Bayern league will play on January 7, when Borussia Moenchengladbach will play.
