The FFKKR stated that they do not agree with the disqualification of Kamila Valieva
The Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) opposed the decision of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) to disqualify figure skater Kamila Valieva for doping. This is reported on the organization’s website.
The FFKKR stated that they do not agree and will take the necessary measures to protect the rights of the team and each athlete individually, including in court. They emphasized that the interests of figure skaters remain the federation’s top priority. “We were and remain with our athletes. We are confident in their purity and honesty,” the federation added.
Previously, the Russian team was deprived of gold in the team figure skating tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games after Valieva’s points were cancelled. As a result, Russia dropped to third place in the standings, gold went to the USA team, and silver went to Japan.
On January 29, CAS disqualified Kamila Valieva for four years. The period of suspension is counted from December 25, 2021, all her results for this period are canceled.
