Jumper Lysenko said that he is interested in facing provocation abroad
The silver medalist of the 2017 World High Jump Championship, Russian Danil Lysenko, said that he would be interested in facing provocation at competitions abroad. His words are quoted by RIA Novosti.
“I would like to show that we are not made by a finger, they will not be able to break us, no matter how much they provoke us,” Lysenko said. He also noted that he would agree to compete in international tournaments if there were no strict admission criteria.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris in a neutral status. At the same time, the head of World Athletics, Sebastian Coe, said that Russian track and field athletes will miss the Olympics.
Lysenko took silver at the 2017 World Championships. He is also a world indoor champion and a four-time Russian champion.
