John McEnroe said that tennis player Medvedev is not easy in the Australian Open final
Seven-time Grand Slam champion American John McEnroe called out the vulnerability of Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev in the final of the 2024 Australian Open. His words are quoted by Eurosport.
“He had three five-set matches – and Janik Sinner only lost one set. Therefore, it will be absolutely amazing if Medvedev is able to prove himself once again, because it must be very difficult for him physically,” McEnroe said. He called Medvedev a grandmaster.
At the time of publication of the news, Medvedev is playing in the final of the Australian Open 2024 with Sinner. In the semi-finals, the Russian beat German Alexander Zverev in five sets with a score of 5:7, 3:6, 7:6, 7:6, 6:3. Sinner turned out to be stronger than Djokovic at the same stage of the tournament with a score of 6:1, 6:2, 6:7 (6:8), 6:3.
Medvedev is the third racket in the world. He has one Grand Slam title to his name and won the US Open in 2021.
