Internazionale thrashed Salernitana and remains at the top of the Italian

Inter Milan took the field this Friday, for the 18th round of the Italian Championship. Playing away from home, against Salernitana, the nerazurri team confirmed their favoritism, thrashed by 5-0, and remained in the lead.

In the first 11 minutes of the game, Internazionale took the lead, with a goal by Perisic. The Croatian took advantage of the ball raised in the area and headed the first game.

Inter’s second goal came in the 33rd minute of the first stage. Dumfries received the ball from Edin Dzeko and hit the crossbar hard. The ball, however, slipped into the goal and the referee confirmed the 2-0 goal for the visitors, who went to the break with the lead on the scoreboard.

Back on the pitch, Filippo Inzaghi’s team didn’t take long to expand. With six minutes of the ball rolling, in a beautiful exchange of passes, Alexis Sánchez hit the corner of Fiorillo’s goal and scored the third goal of the game.

At 32 minutes into the second half, Inter completed the rout, Lautaro Martínez. The forward received the ball inside the area and hit it across to mark the fourth of the match.

At the end of the clash, Gagliardini saved the fifth. With 43 minutes already played in the complementary stage, the midfielder took advantage of the leftover defense and hit the back of the net.

With the victory, Internazionale remains at the top of the Italian Championship, with 43 points and cannot be reached by Milan, vice-leader with 39 points scored. Salernitana, in turn, remains at the top of the competition.

Earlier, in the 18th round, Lazio beat Genoa at home, by 3-1. The winning team’s goals were scored by Pedro, Acerbi and Zaccagni. Visitors declined with Melegoni.
