Ecuadorian midfielder Christian Noboa has left the Sochi football club. This was reported on the team’s website.

The foreign footballer moved to the Ecuadorian Emelec, where he began his career. He said that he spent 16 happy years in the country and would miss Russia.

On April 27, 2023, Noboa announced the receipt of Russian citizenship. According to the Ecuadorian, he first thought about a Russian passport in 2014, but then he did not imagine that he would spend so much time in the country.

Noboa has been playing for Sochi since 2019. Together with the club, he became the silver medalist of the Russian Premier League and was recognized by the Russian Football Union as the best player of the season. The midfielder also became the Russian champion twice as part of Rubin Kazan and another time with Zenit St. Petersburg. He first appeared in the RPL in 2007.
