Figure skater Gallyamov said that it is difficult to name a date for the return of Russians to tournaments
Olympic champion in pairs figure skating Alexander Gallyamov assessed the timing of the return of Russian athletes to international competitions. He spoke about this in an interview with Lenta.ru.
“It’s very difficult to even estimate. Even if we are somehow allowed to participate in the 2026 Olympics, there will probably be only one quota in each event,” said the 24-year-old figure skater.
The lack of international starts, according to Gallyamov, does not affect his motivation, since figure skating is his job. He comes to training every day and just carries out his duties.
Gallyamov is an Olympic champion, world and European champion in pair skating together with Anastasia Mishina. In 2022, Ukraine introduced personal sanctions against the athlete for supporting a special operation.
Earlier, three-time Olympic champion in pair skating Irina Rodnina assessed the European Championships without Russians with the phrase “money down the drain.” In her opinion, fans have no one to follow at the tournament.
