Olympic champion in pairs figure skating Alexander Gallyamov commented on the performance of Russian athletes under a neutral flag. He expressed his opinion in an interview with Lenta.ru.
“We have already done this, including our couple with Anastasia Mishina. I don’t see anything terrible in this. Everyone understands that you are from Russia,” Gallyamov said.
Gallyamov is an Olympic champion, world and European champion in pair skating together with Anastasia Mishina. In 2022, Ukraine introduced personal sanctions against the athlete for supporting the SVO.
Earlier, Olympic champion in parallel giant slalom Vic Wild said that he would refuse to travel to the 2026 Winter Olympics in a neutral status. “I will only compete for Russia,” said the American, who received Russian citizenship before the games in Sochi in 2014.
