The Ministry of Sports must register the administration of Antonio Alvavez Henriques by the decision of Judge Karly Vargas Alvarado, a multijurisdictional judicial unit based in the canton of San Jacinto de Yaguachi.
Through a telematic hearing, Vargas Alvarado accepted the request for protection filed by Pedro Moreira Peña to process the legalization of the directory, run by Alvarez, before this state body.
The judge also detailed in her ruling that the Guayaquil institution must “adjust its statutes to what the Sports Law currently says.”
After the decision was announced, Canaro management called a press conference on Monday evening to comment on the issue.
“The big winner was Barcelona SC. We are happy about this (court decision), very satisfied and calm. Now we have to turn the page and unite to become strong and leave all differences behind,” said Alvarez.
“We will comply with the judge’s order. We will call an extraordinary session of the council to set a date for March and convene the Assembly (of members), and the items on the agenda will be done what the judge said to be done. We will fulfill the request seeking the welfare of the club,” added the Toreador owner.
In his speech, the Canarian manager also insisted on his call for “unity” to the leadership of the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), Liga Pro and the Ministry of Sports.
“I call on the union, the minister (Andrés Guschmer), the Ecuadorian Football Federation (FEF), Liga Pro… Let’s all unite. Barcelona SC is available to help with whatever is needed. We need the continuation of the football festival,” he said.
“It is time to unite. We never clash and never seek unification. As a club, we are available to members and fans and let them know that we will work on the statute. What the partners want will be done. They have an open door. We have to work hand in hand and have zero fights,” Alvarez reiterated.
The Toreador president said that now with the resolution he will put “things in order” at the club and highlighted the work done by his predecessor, Carlos Alfaro Moreno.
“We will put some things in order that were in a mess. The previous board did a great job. The most important thing is that we move forward and we will do what the partners decide; I am your employee. What happened is already yesterday’s news,” he pointed out.
In another order, Alvarez mentioned that the team’s bullfighting presentation will take place on February 3rd on time and with an opponent to be confirmed. (D)
