Trainer and physiotherapist Gray Cook named a way to learn how to do pull-ups. He is quoted by MenToday.
According to the specialist, beginners need to conquer the lower point (hanging) and the upper point (holding on bent arms) of pull-ups. “And then the body itself will deal with the middle part,” he emphasized.
The coach recommended starting with hanging exercises. “Grab the bar and hang. If you can’t hold on for at least 30 seconds, then your grip is still weak. Do this every day. Not every workout, but every day. Set goals: first 30 seconds, then a full minute. When you can hang for a minute without any problems, try the one-arm hang,” he said.
In October, coach Vladimir Kuksov spoke about exercises to prepare for doing pull-ups. The specialist recommended rolling the muscles of the back and shoulders using a special massage roller at the beginning of the warm-up. Next, he advised me to warm up on a block simulator.
