The Manchester City helmsman had to cancel his appearance at a press conference scheduled for this Friday after an inconclusive test.
Pep Guardiola was forced to cancel the press conference prior to the Premier League match on Friday after receiving an inconclusive COVID-19 test result.
The Manchester City manager must await the result of a follow-up PCR test before knowing whether he will be able to lead the Citizens on their trip to Newcastle this Sunday.
One in four English Football League players does not want to be vaccinated
This match is one of five in the Premier League that are still scheduled for this weekend after a series of postponements due to outbreaks of covid-19 cases in the United Kingdom.
The last appearance of Guardia in public was on Wednesday at the farewell press conference of Argentine striker Sergio Agüero in Barcelona.
Guardiola, 50, who suffered the loss of his mother to the coronavirus last year, urged players and people to be cautious about the spike in cases.
“I am worried, not because we are going to cancel or break the league, but because in society the virus is here and people are suffering,” said the Catalan coach earlier this week.
“Some people, the staff here, have it right now and we’ve talked to the players almost every day and told them to be careful, stay safe, healthy, (wear) masks, social distance.” (D)
