The head coach of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club Neftekhimik Oleg Leontyev told the details of the attack in which his cheekbone was broken. His comment is quoted by Match TV.

The specialist connected the incident with the series “The Boy’s Word: Blood on the Asphalt.” According to him, after the release of the film, aggression on the streets increased. “This series makes their fists itch. This means that there is so much evil in people that all they need is such a cinematic spark for a fire to break out in their souls,” he concluded.

Leontyev added that he wrote a statement to the police and expects charges from the attacker, whom he caught up with and filmed. “He is very impudent, he spoke to me rudely, was rude, and constantly swore. The other two were still adequate. And this one is just rude,” the coach shared.

An unknown young man attacked Leontyev on the morning of January 20. The coach had to seek medical help and received several stitches.

“The Boy’s Word: Blood on the Asphalt,” directed by Zhora Kryzhovnikov, was released in December 2023. This series became the main cultural event of the end of the year in Russia.
