Kanchelskis condemned Russian football players for complaining about rising food prices
Former Russian national team and Manchester United football player Andrei Kanchelskis criticized domestic players for complaining about rising food prices. His words are quoted by Sport24.
Kanchelskis condemned the players and called their behavior a terrible blasphemy and complete disgrace. “They should be ashamed to think and start talking about such things. In our time, when I was a football player, people had completely different concepts and values. None of the football players or other athletes complained, although there were times when we were malnourished. We were content with what we had,” he said.
Earlier, Zenit football player Danil Krugovoy complained about rising prices with the same salaries. “Bread now costs 100 rubles, although previously you could buy it for 20 rubles. So, football players are also feeling the rise in prices? Yes, of course, like all people,” he said.
Krasnodar goalkeeper Stanislav Agkatsev also noted the price increase. “Eggs for 150 rubles? It is expensive. Our people don’t live so richly that they can buy eggs for 150 rubles,” he told RB Sport.
