Globe Soccer Awards: Manchester City player Haaland named best footballer
Norwegian striker of English Manchester City Erling Haaland was named the best football player of 2023 according to the Globe Soccer Awards. Voting results are available on the award page on the social network X.
In the fight for the prize, the athlete beat out such players as Jude Bellingham, Karim Benzema, Kevin de Bruyne, Kylian Mbappe, Lionel Messi, Victor Osimhen, Cristiano Ronaldo, Mohamed Salah, Vinicius Junior and Bernardo Silva.
On December 26, 2023, it became known that Haaland was recognized as the best player of 2023 by IFFHS, scoring 208 points. Mbappe is in second place with 105 points. Messi was third with 85 points.
Haaland moved to Manchester City in 2022. As part of the team, he became the champion of England, winner of the National Cup, winner of the Champions League and winner of the UEFA Super Cup.
