Sports director of Spartak Amaral considered it necessary to reduce the composition of the team
The new sports director of Spartak, Tomas Amaral, considered it necessary to reduce the number of players in the team’s main roster. His words are quoted by the red-white website.
“You can’t talk about trusting young players and have 27 people in the squad without leaving room for those very young people,” Amaral said. He added that he considers it optimal to have 24-25 players in the first team.
Amaral also noted that he was pleased with the selection of players in Spartak. “There are great players here. I saw that they were playing with the heart. It is very important. Passion is the most important thing in football,” said the Portuguese.
Spartak announced Amaral’s appointment as sports director on December 22. He came to the Russian team from Benfica Lisbon, where he held the position of senior scout.
