Irina Viner denied gymnast Nazarenko’s statement about the coach’s harassment
President of the All-Russian Federation of Rhythmic Gymnastics Irina Viner responded to the words of Olympic champion Anastasia Nazarenko about the harassment of her coach. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
“I haven’t heard of anything like this. This has never happened to us,” Wiener denied the athlete’s statement. She noted that the male choreographers on the team were well-mannered and intelligent.
Earlier, Nazarenko said that one of the coaches liked to touch girls’ buttocks. “He could yell at me or even kick me out of practice. I came to his office and apologized. He said: “Come here, I’ll hug you.” And he started touching me where he shouldn’t,” she recalled.
In addition to the gold of the 2012 Olympic Games in the group all-around, the native of Kaliningrad has three highest awards at the world championships. In addition, Nazarenko won the European Championship three times as a member of the Russian national team.
