Figure skater Kamila Valieva will miss the Russian jumping championship
Russian figure skater Kamila Valiev will miss the national jumping championship. This was reported in the Telegram channel of the athlete’s official fan club.
It is noted that the athlete will not compete for health reasons. “We understand that this is a necessary measure, because Kamila always strives to perform and show her skills on the ice, to please her fans,” the message says.
The Russian Jumping Championship will be held from January 19 to 22 in Moscow. Individual and team tournaments are planned within its framework.
The 17-year-old figure skater is the subject of a doping investigation. Traces of a prohibited drug were found in Valieva’s sample from December 2021. The final decision on the athlete’s case will be made by CAS in January 2024.
