Former world boxing champion Ruslan Provodnikov told how he ate from a dog bowl as a child. His words are quoted by News.ru.
“Once there was nothing to eat, so I really had to eat crackers from a dog’s bowl,” – remembered Provodnikov. The athlete shared that he grew up on the street and therefore stole, used drugs and alcohol.
According to Provodnikov, his life changed dramatically when, at the age of ten, he met coach Yevgeny Vakuev. He liked going to competitions, winning and receiving gifts for it. According to the boxer, his experience shows that everyone chooses their own destiny. “Today I am the ex-world champion, I help my people, fellow countrymen. I could not have thought that everything would turn out like this. This is a miracle for me, ”the Provodnikov described his current situation and specified that many of his childhood friends had spent time in prison, drank themselves or died.
On December 19, the ex-champion will fight in Moscow according to the rules of boxing with the former contender for the title of the Absolute Fighting Championship (UFC) Ali Bagautinov. The meeting will take place within the framework of the “Fight to Save” charity event. This will be the first fight for Provodnikov since 2016, when he lost by unanimous decision to John Molina.
