Malinkovich sent a portrait of Trotsky to the fencer Bidet who fled to the USA

The leader of the Communists of Russia party, Sergei Malinkovich, sent the Russian fencer Sergei Bide, who left the country and went to the United States, a portrait of the revolutionary, Soviet statesman and political emigrant Leon Trotsky. He told RIA Novosti about this.

Malinkovich noted that he was sending a portrait of Trotsky to the fencer who fled to the United States on behalf of the party and “all patriots.” The leader of the Communists of Russia compared Bida’s bad behavior, in his opinion, with the actions of a revolutionary and recalled that “everyone knows how it ended.” “I also urge the Russian special services to form an excellent team of fencers and ensure their participation in the competition in which the traitor Bida will participate,” Malinkovic added.

In December, it became known that epee fencers Sergei and Violetta Bida were put on the wanted list in Russia: the former is a medalist at the Tokyo Olympics, the latter is a medalist at the World Championships. The spouses face up to ten years in prison under Article 337 (“Unauthorized abandonment of a unit or place of service”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, since they took part in competitions without the consent of the Russian side. Later, the athletes announced that they were going to obtain American citizenship and compete for the United States.
