Baskonia relied on a great second half to beat Olympiacos, 80-69on Friday, January 12, in the twenty-first day of the Euroleague in a choral victory and with great defensive solidarity.

The Blaugranas entered the game better than the Greeks, with more success and greater physical presence that allowed them to score and defend to establish the first leads, although the visitors finished the first quarter with a three-point advantage (14-17).

In the second quarter the Vitoria-Gasteiz team improved in defense and scored more fluidly in attack. The locals took the lead on the scoreboard (25-21), but Olympiacos did not let them open a gap on the scoreboard. In this way, the break was reached with a result of 33-32 favorable to Baskonia.

After going through the locker room, the third quarter began with an exchange of baskets in which the Basque team emerged victorious. Those led by Dusko Ivanovic distanced themselves on the scoreboard and entered the last quarter with a lead of 10 points (59-49).

In the final 10 minutes of the game, Baskonia managed its lead well. They had leads of more than 10 points and did not let Olympiacos get closer on the scoreboard.
