Nizhny Novgorod footballer Edgar Sevikyan will continue his career at Ferencvaros
Midfielder of the Russian Premier League (RPL) Nizhny Novgorod club Edgar Sevikyan will continue his career in a European club. The general director of the team, David Melik-Huseinov, announced this on the Telegram channel.
Melik-Huseinov explained that the club received an offer activating the option to buy out Sevikyan. He noted that the footballer was an important member of the team, but expressed an insistent desire to prove himself in another club. According to the Championship, the midfielder will move to the Hungarian Ferencvaros.
On August 31, 2023, Sevikyan, summoned to the September training camp of the Russian national team, announced his refusal of the invitation due to his decision to play for Armenia. He was called up to the Armenian national team training camp later in September.
Sevikyan is a graduate of Lokomotiv Moscow. He played for Russian youth teams of almost all ages.
