Surne Bilbao Basket reaches the quarterfinals of the FIBA Europe Cup after defeating Balkan Botevgrad in Bulgaria (62-94)a rival that held on as best it could in the first half and gave in in the second half to the avalanche that led to the great game of Adam Smith (25 points).
Balkan began by winning, taking a 5-0 and 7-2 lead. Surne reacted quickly, launched by a triple from Rabaseda and eight points from Smith who threatened with the first visitor breakaway (11-19) before the end of the first quarter (15-20).
A 0-9 score put the black team up 14 points (20-34). That good streak left the game somewhat leaning, but not yet decided for the second half (32-43).
Five points in a row from the visitors on the way back from the locker room, a dunk from Hlinason and a triple from Smith seemed to begin to definitively break the clash (32-48), but Balkan did not give in either, as they once again put the match on the brink of ten points (43-35).
Until the star of the afternoon in Bulgaria, a burning Smith, settled the matter with two consecutive triples that propelled his team to a partial 0-15 and left the game decided with the last quarter remaining (47-79).
There, the only thing left to know was the maximum difference in the score and the final result, with a 62-94.
