Tarasova said that figure skaters Davis and Smolkin are nothing of themselves
Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova harshly assessed the potential of the dancing couple Diana Davis and Gleb Smolkin. Her words are quoted by Match TV.
The specialist stated that the daughter of coach Eteri Tutberidze and her partner, the son of actor Boris Smolkin, do not show high results. “They are nothing, just hype in the press. No one knew Gleb at all,” Tarasova said.
Davis and Smolkin will take part in the 2024 European Championships. The tournament will take place in Kaunas, Lithuania, from January 8 to 14. Russian skaters will not take part in the tournament due to ISU sanctions.
In May 2023, Davis and Smolkin moved from the Russian team to the Georgian team. As part of the domestic team, they finished eighth at the 2022 European Championships and took 14th place at the Olympic Games in Beijing.
