Alena Kostornaya told designer Kuklycheva that the costumes were paid for by the Federation
Russian figure skater Alena Kostornaya responded to accusations of non-payment for costumes made by designer Alena Kuklycheva on her Telegram channel.
“The contract for sewing our competition costumes for the 2023/2024 season was concluded with the Moscow Figure Skating Federation. This issue is being resolved with them, not with me,” the athlete said.
Kostornaya shared that she was offended that she was the last one in this situation. The figure skater added that she complied with the agreements and tagged the designer in her posts as payment for other costumes.
Earlier, Kuklycheva announced the termination of cooperation with Kostornaya. The specialist demanded that the figure skater pay for the costumes for the short and free programs, and also asked the athlete to return the outfits for the show and accessories.
Since the 2023/2024 season, Kostornaya, the European champion among single skaters, has been performing in pair skating with Georgy Kunitsa. In December, the duo took ninth place at the Russian Championship.
