Ovechkin’s puck brought Washington victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins in an NHL match
Russian forward of the Washington Capitals Alexander Ovechkin scored a goal in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL) against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Results are available on the league website.
The meeting in Pittsburgh ended in victory for the guests with a score of 4:3 (4:1, 0:2, 0:0). In addition to Ovechkin, Tom Wilson, Bec Malensteen and Martin Fehervari scored goals. The capital club broke a losing streak of four matches.
This is Ovechkin’s eighth goal of the 2023-24 NHL regular season and the 830th of his NHL career. Thus, the forward strengthened his position on the list of the best snipers in the NHL and reduced the gap from the leading Canadian Wayne Gretzky to 64 goals.
Ovechkin has been playing for the Capitals since 2005. Together with the club, he won the Stanley Cup in 2018.
