Liverpool will compete with Real Madrid for the transfer of French forward Kylian Mbappe
Liverpool wanted to sign Kylian Mbappe next summer, when the French forward’s current contract with PSG expires. Le Parisien writes about this.
In Mbappe, the English club sees a replacement for Mohamed Salah, who is actively interested in Saudi Arabia and whose current agreement with Liverpool will expire in 2025. Mbappe has not yet indicated which club he would like to end up with after completing his contract with PSG, but it is claimed that the forward is flattered by the long-term interest of Merseyside coach Jurgen Klopp.
As well as being a possible replacement for Salah, the French world champion is seen as an asset to help Liverpool close the gap on Manchester City. In addition to the English, Real Madrid is also vying for the 25-year-old striker, but according to the French press, Real’s tactics regarding the transfer do not have much chance of success – the Spaniards are not ready to improve the offer made to Mbappe back in 2022.
On December 30, the Transfermarkt portal included Mbappe in the team of the most expensive football players in the world. In addition to the Frenchman, the attack line of this team also included Jude Bellingham from Real Madrid and Erling Haaland from Manchester City.
25-year-old Mbappe is the 2018 World Champion with the French national team, winner of the Nations League, and a six-time French champion with PSG and Monaco.
