Chandler said he always wanted to fight McGregor at his best
American mixed style (MMA) fighter Michael Chandler spoke about the upcoming fight with Conor McGregor. He wrote about it on a social network X.
“I’ve always said that I want to fight you at your best, to face your most dangerous version. At middleweight I will look good. But don’t forget, who was by nature a featherweight and started his UFC career choosing his opponents from the bantamweight division,” Chandler said.
The day before, McGregor announced that he would fight Chandler on June 29, 2024 in Las Vegas at the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC). McGregor had his last fight in the summer of 2021, losing to American Dustin Poirier by technical knockout. The Irishman suffered a broken leg, from which he is still recovering.
37-year-old Michael Chandler last entered the Octagon in November 2022 and also lost to Poirier. Chandler lost by submission in the third round. In total, Michael has 31 MMA fights, in which he won 23 victories and suffered eight defeats.
