Manchester City player Grealish talks about being robbed of more than a million euros
Manchester City and England footballer Jack Grealish spoke about the robbery of his home. He posted on Instagram (the social network is prohibited in the Russian Federation; belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned).
“I can’t even explain how devastated I am about the burglary that happened at my home a few days ago. Thank God that no one was hurt. Honestly, this has been the best year of my life in terms of football, but now it doesn’t look like I can celebrate it,” the 28-year-old wrote.
On the eve of the New Year, thieves stole watches and jewelry worth more than a million euros from the footballer’s mansion. At the time of the robbery, the athlete’s relatives were in the house.
In 2023, Grealish won the first treble in the club’s history with Manchester City, winning the English Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League. The footballer played 35 matches for the England national team and won the silver medal at the 2020 European Championship.
In July, the house of another football player, goalkeeper of the Italian national team and French PSG Gianluigi Donnarumma, was also subject to an armed robbery. Robbers broke into the goalkeeper’s mansion, tied up the goalkeeper and his wife and held them at gunpoint. Later, Donnarumma and his wife managed to get out and take refuge in a nearby hotel.
