Russian forward of the Tampa Bay Lightning Nikita Kucherov was the first to reach the 60-point mark in the current season of the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

In a meeting with the Montreal Canadiens, Kucherov scored a goal and gave an assist. These effective actions helped his team win with a score of 4:3. He was named the second star of the match.

In total, the 30-year-old Russian hockey player has 61 points (26 goals plus 35 assists) in 37 matches of the NHL regular season, he is the leader in the scorer race and takes second place in the sniper race this season. Only Toronto Maple Leafs forward Auston Matthews has more goals – 29.

Tampa currently has 41 points and is in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings. In the next match, which will take place on January 3, the Lightning will play away against Winnipeg.
